Why You Need to Certify
The DIFI Consortium’s purpose is to enable the digital transformation of space, satellite, and related industries by providing a simple, open, interoperable Digital IF/RF standard that replaces the natural interoperability of analog IF signals and helps prevent vendor lock-in, which has been a major obstacle to modernization efforts across the industry. DIFI enables the space industry, including commercial and government operators, to confidently design, build, operate, and evolve multi-vendor satellite networks and ground systems.
Certification of products to the published DIFI specifications ensures consistent interpretation and implementation of the DIFI standard, both within the details of the packet formats as well as device behavior required for particular use cases. Specification compliance, certified interoperability, and more are being collaboratively implemented within the DIFI Consortium’s Certification program.
